Can anyone join our services?

Yes! Everyone is welcome to join our services.

Will I feel welcomed?

You will be met and greeted with warm greetings by members of the church. Our church is a mixture of mamas and papas and young families who will make you feel at home in the faith.

Is the service in English?

The service is conducted in both English and Cook Islands Maori

What is our denomination?

The Cook Islands Christian Church (CICC) is a Congregational church established by the London Missions Society (LMS) in 1821. This means that we hold to the tenets of Reformed Christian theology.

The 'Cook Islands Christian Church' is the main church of adherence for the people of the Cook Islands of which Hampton Park CICC is a member of.

How do we worship?

Our services are solemn and reverent. Our worship is accompanied by acapella hymns (no instruments), prayers and the reading and teaching of Scripture (Sermon)

Is there Sunday school (or Creche) for my children?

Yes. Sunday School is dismissed from the service after the second hymn and enter their classes in the adjoining rooms for the duration of the remaining service. This is a great opportunity for your child(ren) to join the Sunday School with their authorised teachers (WWCC certified) and enable your worship to resume uninterrupted.

What should I wear to church?

We encourage all members and attendees to dress modestly and appropriately for worship.

What is a typical order of service?

A typical service is usually 1 hour and follows the following liturgy.

Commencement hymn/ Imene akatomo (Prayer of invocation)
Hymn of Exultation/ Imene akatapu
Call to worship (Scripture) and opening prayer
Sunday School Hymn (Imene Apii Sapati)
Prayer of Confession and repentance (followed by the Lord's Prayer)
Reading of Scripture
Traditional Hymn (Imene Metua)
Prayer of Thanksgiving and supplication
Announcements and Collect (Tithes and Offering)
Collection hymn
